Arbeitsbeschreibung

```html Join Our Team at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Science (H-BRS) Make new discoveries, drive projects forward, accept responsibility: at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Science (H-BRS), we depend on staff who do just this. In cooperation with around 1,000 colleagues, we develop new solutions to help find appropriate responses to the many challenges of our times. We do this to further improve the H-BRS with the 9,000 students from more than 100 countries who are currently enrolled in its 40 courses. Do you accept the challenge? The German Research Foundation (DFG) is funding the project "Investigation of the molecular mechanisms of sodium self-inhibition of isoforms of the epithelial sodium channel (ENaC)" for 3 years. In this project, the molecular and structural mechanisms of the regulation of ENaC isoforms are investigated using various methods: Molecular biological-biochemical methods Electrophysiological techniques (two-electrode voltage clamp and patch-clamp) Binding analyses (microscale thermophoresis) Computational modelling (atomic high-performance simulations) We are looking for the following employee (d/f/m) to join our team as of 01.09.2024 in our Department of Natural Sciences on Campus Rheinbach: Research Assistant / PostDoc (d/f/m) for the structure and function of epithelial sodium channels Your Tasks: Carry out research and development work in the DFG project "Investigation of the molecular mechanisms of sodium self-inhibition of isoforms of the epithelial sodium channel (ENaC)". Investigate ENaC gating mechanisms using computational analysis of structure-function relationships, binding analyses and electrophysiological techniques. Take responsibility for analyzing, presenting the research results. Publish research results in scientific journals and through presentations at national/international conferences. Develop your own scientific profile in the field of membrane transport physiology. Our Expectations: You have a university degree (diploma/master''s level) and a completed doctorate in a life science subject. Proven expertise in structure-function analysis, preferably on ion channels/membrane proteins. Extensive experimental experience in computational/molecular modelling and molecular biology/biochemistry techniques, including experience in electrophysiology. Excellent written and spoken English language skills (comparable to B2 level). What We Offer: Exciting, varied work in an innovative environment, full-time (39.83 hours per week) remunerated according to your qualifications up to salary group 13 TV-L and with a contract term of until 3 years. Family focused with flexible working hours and childcare facilities. Facilitate advanced training and continuing education for professional and personal development. Provide a library and a cafeteria. Value the livable Rhineland area as an optimum environment for higher education distinguished by unique local advantages such as the cathedral city of Cologne, the cosmopolitan city of Bonn, and the unspoilt countryside in the Eifel, Siebengebirge and Rhine districts. H-BRS is committed to equal opportunities and diversity. We therefore strive for a balanced gender ratio at our university. Women are given preferential consideration if they have the same aptitude, qualifications and professional performance. H-BRS is certified family-friendly and proud of it. People with severe disabilities are an integral part of our university and are given preference in the application procedure provided they are equally well qualified. If you have more specific questions, you are welcome to contact Prof. Dr. Matthias Preller on +49 2241 865 9851 or under -brs.de or Prof. Dr. Mike Althaus on +49 2241 865 9541 or under -brs.de. If you have any questions about equal opportunities and the family-friendly university, please contact the Equal Opportunities Officer Dr. Barbara Hillen-Haas on +49 2241 865 268. Become part of Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) and use our online form to send us your application by 26.07.2024 (reference 55/24). ``` #J-18808-Ljbffr
